Wow could the weather be any more helpful… mid 30’s today and rain to start the day mixed with some wet snow as the day went by… Our ladders are covered in mud… and so were we by the end of the day…

Despite the weather we managed to complete the siding and get most of the batons up…. doing the bottom ones is pretty easy and fast… the upper ones and front ones required a bit more time… angles are PITA… Boxing in the roof beams also probably took 20 minutes each… lots of little peaces and cuts… not fun but I like the look.

Pole Barn 10-29-2010

Pole Barn

This morning I got to the cabin around 8 to 38 degrees and rain… not what I was looking forward to… only had time for 15 minutes of turkey hunting… saw 4 and tried to get in front of them… never works that way… so back to work

Today we got the front sided and most of the north side… but we are having a problem getting 1×10’s… all we have left is the upper south side and the soffits…

Along with getting more 1×10’s I will probably need extra 1×3 batons too… Next week I hope to finish the siding and get the batons on the front…

Long time since my last post… update on projects

I know it’s been along time since I have updated this site. I have been doing youtube videos mostly covering my latest projects… most have been equipment related… but I have been working on a pole barn so we can get some of the equipment undercover…

I also moved my blog to wordpress… the old site was just to hard to maintain… hope it will be easier now

Cabin work took a back seat this week… my oldest had her first communion yesterday… busy busy busy

On friday I did pick up a new (to me) chain saw for the cabin… A 1993 Sachs Dolmar 116si… this is a much bigger saw then the homelite and poulan chainsaws we have been using… still looking for one more pro level saw but probably a little smaller… something around 40cc’s…
