The week we finished the dinning room & kitchen window trim… Its nice to get back to back work weekends and see something get to completion… There is so much more trim to be done… seems like a never ending project…
Here is a before pic
And the after
Also took the GoPro and attached it to the ATV a drove around the property… tested its toughness when it fell of the mount 🙂 also had a shot of the local Amish riding their horse and buggy…
So I just got back from vacation in the southwest… We spent the part of our time in Vegas, Grand Canyon and Sedona. Prior to that we had some members of our extended family in the hospital… So its been a while since my last post and video.
So this week and I a couple of tasks I wanted to take care of… mowing the lawn (it always needs to be mowed) and getting more of the window trim done.
I cut and put the first coat of stain on the four windows in the dinning room and kitchen. Next week I will get the last coat of stain on and maybe install them. I want to get to work on the guest cabin ceiling… So that might take precedence…
We picked this up several years ago. Modern Stihl and Husqvarna equivalents are out of my price range. But for $30 this was a great find. I have the owners manual and parts manual below. The power head is based on the Homelite XL-12, specs below

This week we found the root cause of our PTO issues. Prior to our purchase of the 18 Auto the pivot pin on the front of the crank bearing broke off. Someone then replaced the pin with a bolt in the end of the PTO engagement lever. This worked by having the PTO pivot off of the PTO bearing carrier. As the parts wore over the years this worked less well. Continue reading Wheel Horse 18 Automatic PTO removal and Inspection→
Memorial day weekend is a busy weekend for us each year. My daughters march in the parade with the Girl Scouts and I with the fire department. It’s also the weekend of the yearly local Amish benefit auction which they use to pay their medical bills. As such we like to spend some time down at the cabin and attend the festivities. This year I also spent some time and used our Wheel Horse to put in a very small garden. Continue reading Wheel Horse 18 Automatic rototilling→
