Just picked up a 1993 Sachs Dolmar 116si Chainsaw… It’s in very good shape but needs a couple of things :
Chain brake – not working – band broken – needs replacement
The air valve leaks sometimes when tipped on side
Needs new air filter
Rear air filter cover threads are stripping
Also my choke works opposite from the instruction manual… up is run and down is start…
I pulled the exhaust the the piston looked like new… lots of life left in the old saw… we also picked up a Stihl 034AV that was in like new shape… I’ll create a page for that sooner or later
Manuals :
Sachs Dolmar 116si/120si IPL
Sachs Dolmar 116si/120si Service Manual
Sachs Dolmar 116si/120si Owners Manual
Oh… I got the saw from Morg’s Sawz & Stoves in Pavillion, NY… owner was a real nice guy who threw in a bunch of extras & let me test the saw out on his wood pile… They’re a full service chainsaw shop about 45 minutes from home & used to be a Dolmar dealer… I’m betting I will be back again…

Did you ever find a source for caburators parts or a new air filter ? I have a Sachs-Dolmar 116 Si that I have not used in years. The carburator appears to be fouled.
It’s still on my winter to-do list but these guys are supposed to have a good selection of parts : http://www.edgeandengine.com/chainsaws/dolmar.html. There are other dolmar dealers also… if you check http://www.arboristsite.com you can ask around and get more ideas…
good luck…

Went nuts last winter buying Dolmars (116si, 120si, 6800i). Found just about everything at http://www.milacalawn.com.
New parts – cheapest I’ve found. Ed.
Chainsawr seems to have a lot of dolmar parts. i found it just looking for dolmar parts with my search engine. good luck
I have the same great old Dolmar saw and yours is the only site I’ve found with the service manual. I need to tune mine and I went to open the link on your site but it says the file is corrupted. Did you change something or is it my computer?
I can download it so I think it is on your computer. Try this link… it will use the googledocs viewer to open it up… good luck

when you tip your saw to the side it is not the air filter leaking it is the plastic piece at the top of the gas tank. just replaced mine on my 115 connects the fuel line to carb to inside the tank. my uncle was the number 1 sachs dolmar dealer in california Tom Dines from sierra city he had sold sachs for over 25 years. i have tons of parts if you need any
thanks… I do actually need some parts… so I will be emailing you… thanks
Jeffrey,
I am looking for an air filter to fit a circa 1987 SD 112. Two if I can find them; they are hard to find. You wouldn’t happen to have any, would you?
Also, I am going to replace the plastic valve at the top of the gas tank. How did you go about it? I can’t figure out how to remove it without destroying it.
Thanks.
Hey Jeff. I know this is an old thread, but is it possible that you might still have one of those tank vents? Thanks.
Thanks for making the pdf’s available – have a 1991 SD 116si and still going strong – great saw and with a bit of attention (thanks to your parts listing) hope to get a few more years yet…Cheers
Hey Mike, Just found this site. Had similar problem with 116SI. Snapped the part back in, drilled sm hole and put a screw in it. It’s worked fine for years! Ed
thanks… I need to open the saw up and clean it anyways before spring so I’ll take a look… plan to put a carb kit in as well… getting a little hard to start sometimes…
Hi Jeffrey – would like to find a good 120si, or one for rebuild. Have one of these around?
Thanks, Ed.
you and me both 🙂 been looking for a decent 120si for a couple of years but don’t want to pay ebay prices…
Good saws the old Dolmars https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9_6eUCIHwM&list=UUOl-su4jhW_Q-Dqhb74bfHg
Where I can find parts in Ocala, Florida for the Super 116 ? There is a dealer called Ocala tractor, but they no have interest in sale parts. I have called few times.
Hi,

Thanks.
